The word is out – summer is coming and so is the
fifth annual Summer Festival in West Valley City organized by the Khai Tam Vietnamese Cultural Center Committee of the Vietnamese Unified Buddhist Association of Utah. The
day-long festival set to be held outdoors at
New East Sea area located at 3695 South Redwood Road,
West Valley City, Utah on Saturday,
July 14, 2012 will be a celebration of Vietnamese culture and heritage. The festival promises to be the highlight of Vietnamese-American community’s social calendar. It will be
a days for fun, foods, arts, music, activities and dances.
The festival will also reach out to other ethnicities, inviting people of other racial origins to discover the strength, talent, intelligence, and beauty of the Vietnamese and its people. We are proud to have other ethnic communities joining the festival to perform, to share and preserve rich tradition of their culture and heritage to maintain the traditions across many generations. Some of the groups represented
in 2011 have included: Japan, Korea, Thailand, Vietnam,
Laos, Cambodia, China, Tibet, Philippine, Ethiopia,
Mexico, Polynesia, Hawaii and Samoa,
Magician Christopher Fair, Belly Dancing by Thia, Pho
Quang Vietnamese Youth, Ballet Folklorico de las
Americas, Bellet Folklorico Dance by Citlali, Lac Viet
Band, Utah Urban Dance Organization, Fundamentals Crew,
Raijin Taiko Group, Unicorn Dances, and more...
